Samantha Short

Board of Directors; Director of the Scholarship Committee

Samantha is the daughter of a single mother and is a first generation college student. As a result of her mothers hard work and emphasis on the power of higher education, Samantha was able to complete her Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Denver, her MS.Ed in Mental Health and School Counselling from the University of Pennsylvania, and her M.A., in Clinical Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

In addition to her work with the foundation, Samantha is the Clinical Director and founder of Calm Waters Counselling Collective, a counselling practice in British Columbia, Canada aimed at increasing access to therapy across the province.

As a result, she has been able to pursue her passion of helping individuals with mental health issues. With immense gratitude, she hopes to help women access the same education she was afforded, as a result of her mother’s hard work.
