George Pierson

George recognizes the impact that a university degree can have on achieving success. The son of a single father construction worker whose mother suddenly passed when he was young, George was the first of his extended family to obtain a college degree. He went on to instill the need for education in his own children, resulting in his son receiving a graduate degree from Columbia University.
In his business career, George is recognized as a skilled problem solver, turnaround specialist and value creation expert with more than 35 years of international consulting, management, legal, and leadership experience in infrastructure. After successful turnaround stints as the CEO of two iconic infrastructure firms, he currently sits on multiple Boards of Directors as well as advises companies and investors on infrastructure investments and operational improvement.
George has received numerous industry awards and recognition including being honored by the American Society of Civil Engineers with the distinguished Outstanding Project and Leadership (“OPAL”) award for Lifetime Achievement in Management. He was elected as a member of the National Academy of Construction as well as The Moles, a professional organization of the heavy underground construction industry. He is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers and was elected as a Fellow in the International Academy of Construction Lawyers. George received a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School, an M.B.A. from St. Mary’s College of California, an M.S. in civil engineering from the University of California at Berkeley (where he was named to the Academy of Distinguished Alumni in 2020), and a B.S. summa cum laude in civil engineering from Bucknell University (which honored him as the Distinguished Engineering Alumni is 2010).
