Aunnika Short

Aunnika was born and raised by a single mother in Vancouver, Canada. Though the responsibilities of being a single parent prevented her mother from pursuing higher education, it was through her mother’s sacrifices that Aunnika forged her own path in university. Aunnika completed her B.A. in Psychology and Social Behaviour at the University of California, Irvine and her M.Ed in Child Studies. She is now pursuing her Doctorate of Philosophy in Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford where she researches neurodevelopmental disabilities.

With a background in promoting inclusion and representation in disability research, Aunnika is passionate about bringing these same values to the accessibility of higher education for single mothers. In removing the financial barriers faced by single mothers, their potential following a university degree are truly limitless. We can’t wait to see what heights you’ll reach.
